Vaccination even for temporary returnees without a resident card
Chief Cabinet Secretary Kato expressed his intention to put together a new countermeasure for those who cannot be vaccinated due to lack of a resident card after returning to Japan temporarily.
Chief Cabinet Secretary Kato inspected the workplace inoculation that started on the 21st at a general trading company in Tokyo. In the exchange of opinions with company executives, the company requested the prompt implementation of a "vaccine passport," which is the official proof of vaccination. After the inspection, Secretary Kato expressed his intention to hurry to deal with people who are temporarily returning to Japan and have difficulty in vaccination due to lack of a resident card.
"I don't have a basic resident card, so I can't say that it's exactly the same as general vaccinations, but I'd like to create another mechanism to meet those needs in the summer." (Chief Cabinet Secretary Katsunobu Kato)
Regarding this "another mechanism", Secretary Kato stated at a subsequent press conference that the relevant ministries and agencies would proceed with preparations so that inoculation could be performed at Narita Airport and Haneda Airport and its surroundings.
